Pixels Maths, Android pixel art coloring app where each correct calculation colors a zone, for ages 9 to 15, on Maths PDF

Pixels Maths is a pixel art math coloring game for Android: each grey zone of a drawing hides a calculation, and a correct answer colors it in. Over 60 drawings cover Grade 4 (CM1) to Grade 9 (3ème).

The calculations are generated at each game, so every drawing can be replayed with new problems.

Over 60 drawings are available, and new ones are added regularly.

A math coloring game that checks the answers

Many teachers and parents already use coloring-by-numbers pages as a reward after a worksheet. Pixels Maths takes the same idea and puts the calculation inside the picture. The student cannot finish the drawing without solving the problems, and a short correction appears after a mistake.

It fits a weekly routine as a lighter session between two written worksheets.

How it works

  1. Choose a pixel art drawing and a level.
  2. Tap a grey zone: a calculation appears in large type.
  3. Answer a multiple-choice question or type the answer.
  4. A right answer colors the zone; a mistake shows a short correction and a new calculation.
  5. Finish the drawing and add it to the gallery.

Topics by level

  • Grades 4 and 5 (CM1, CM2): multiplication tables, addition, subtraction, mental math, decimals and conversions
  • Grade 6 (6ème): order of operations, fractions, percentages, decimals
  • Grade 7 (5ème): signed numbers, algebraic expressions, proportionality
  • Grade 8 (4ème): powers, equations, the Pythagorean theorem
  • Grade 9 (3ème): equations, scientific notation, percentages and brevet revision

More features

14 types of calculation

Besides the topics above, the game includes unit conversions and proportionality, so one drawing can mix several skills.

Drawings and gallery

More than 60 drawings cover animals, space, nature, sweets, sport and vehicles. Finished pictures are saved in a gallery and can be shared as an image or as an animated GIF that replays the coloring.

Motivation

  • Points for each correct answer and a bonus for fast answers
  • A daily streak and an optional daily reminder
  • Badges and grades from Apprentice to Master

Using it with worksheets

Choose the level that matches the current worksheet and let the student color one drawing after finishing the page. Because the game works offline, it is easy to bring on a trip.

Language and platform

The game is in French and English, has no ads and saves progress across devices. It runs on Android phones and tablets, and an iPhone version is in preparation.

When to use it

  • As a reward after a long worksheet
  • As a quiet activity during a trip or a waiting room
  • As a revision tool the week before a test, choosing the topic of the test
  • As a station activity in a classroom with tablets

Teachers can ask students to pick the same level and compare how many mistakes they made on each type of calculation. Parents can use the daily reminder to build a habit without nagging, and the gallery gives children a visible record of what they accomplished.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pixels Maths?

Pixels Maths is an Android game where a pixel art drawing is colored by solving calculations. Each zone hides a problem, and a correct answer reveals its color until the picture is complete.

It covers Grade 4 (CM1) to Grade 9 (3ème), with topics such as multiplication tables, fractions, percentages, signed numbers, powers, equations and the Pythagorean theorem.

Does Pixels Maths work offline?

Yes, the game works without an internet connection, which makes it practical for car rides or flights. Progress is saved across devices, and the app has no ads.
