About this book

Second grade is when children start to trust the base-ten system. The lessons take time on hundreds, tens and ones before moving on to adding and subtracting within 1,000, then turn to dollars, coins and clocks.

Every chapter opens with the skills it builds; in Adding Within 100, for instance: add two-digit numbers, understand regrouping when you add, add on a number line. A Key facts box sums up what to remember. Most of the 70 lesson sections of the book are written as questions a student would ask, such as What is regrouping when you add?

For a second grader who needs extra practice, a homeschooling family, or a teacher who wants ready-made chapter material. Pair it with the Grade 2 Math Worksheets with Answers to practice each chapter right after reading it.
